Mesilau National Park

CARMEN: One of our family's favourite vacation sites is Mesilau National Park (or Mesilau Nature Resort), a place where you can climb up Mt. Kinabalu besides from Kinabalu National Park. The climb up Mt. Kinabalu is I think about 1km longer and dad said it is much more challenging using the Mesilau trail than the older and more popular Kinabalu Trail. I have not climb up Mt. Kinabalu yet but dad took Tess and I up the Mesilau trail until about 1km I think. It was great fun. Dad said he will bring us climb Mt. Kinabalu when we are older. But he has to get well 100% first I think.

TESSY: There was a..., a..., lot of..., of..., beautiful orchids there too.

CARMEN: Yeah Tessy, and lots of birds, butterflies and insects.

TESSY: And the greens are really nice.

CARMEN: Much greener than at Kinabalu National Park.

TESSY: But the road going up to..., going up to..., Mesilau National Park is..., is..., really bad Carmen.

CARMEN: Mom's car broke down on one trip Tess. Remember that?

TESSY: Yes Carmen. Dad did not come along on that..., that..., trip.

CARMEN: But we never have car problems when dad's driving right? But one part of the road was very very bad that even dad got a hard time. I really hope they will make the road better soon.

TESSY: Me too Carmen. I really like the place. Its..., its..., soooo cold. And we can..., can..., see the foot of Mt. Kinabalu too. And..., and..., I really like the food at the restaurant. We even..., we even..., checkers, chess and snake and ladders there.

CARMEN: Food again Tess? Lets talk about Mesilau, Tessy?

TESSY: Carrrr, I want to talk about what I want to talk about..., ok?

CARMEN: Why don't you talk about the time you fell and rolled down the steep road at Mesilau. You nearly fell off the mountain. Ha.., ha..., ha.

TESSY: Carrrr, that's because you..., you..., said to race down the..., race down the... road.

CARMEN: Whatever!

TESSY: Hemmmm.

CARMEN: One more thing. If you visit Mesilau and Kinabalu National Park on the same day, you only need to pay for one entrance ticket to visit both places, like what we did one time.
