Boring Holidays

CARMEN: We are having our year-end school holidays now, and it had been real boring.

TESSY: Yeah..., didn't go to any vacation again this year.

CARMEN: Mom and dad are both real busy again during the end of the year. We suppose to go to Kuala Lumpur or Mulu, but now it doesn't look like it.

TESSY: How come mom and dad are always busy, Carmen?

CARMEN: Maybe, they are not? Maybe, it's my punishment for not doing so well in my final examination?

TESSY: But what about me? I got no. 4 in class...

CARMEN: I thought dad ever said that only if both of us did well in our studies then we can get a present or go on a vacation?

TESSY: That's not fair, you know.

CARMEN: Nahhh..., I'm just kidding Tessy. You've got your present already, right?

TESSY: Yeah..., that's true.

CARMEN: I guess they are "really" busy then.

TESSY: Bummer.....

Bella Italia Pizzeria Ristorante Cafe

CARMEN: Last night, we went for dinner at a new Italian restaurant called Bella Italia Pizzeria Ristorante Cafe to celebrate mom and dad's wedding anniversary.

TESSY: Yeah..., the ristorante or..., or..., restaurant, is at Jesselton Hotel at..., at..., Gaya Street, in downtown..., in downtown..., Kota Kinabalu.

CARMEN: I had the delicious Ravioli Lobster (or lasagna in lobster sauce).

TESSY: I'd the Costolette Di..., Di..., Agnello.

CARMEN: Sounds nice, right? But Tessy just had the lamp chop, Italian style.

TESSY: But it tasted very very nice.

CARMEN: Mom and dad shared Black Cod Fish dish together.

TESSY: And for desert..., we had..., we had..., the Tiramisu. I didn't like it a lot.

CARMEN: But I do. And Tess, do you know what's the best part of the dinner?

TESSY: Nope. What, Carmen?

CARMEN: The restaurant is owned by our cousin's Francesca's parents. Francesca's daddy, Marcello, an Italiano, is the chief chef of the place. And, when he saw us, he gave us two more complimentary deserts. I ate the Panna Cotta (don't ask me to describe it, ok?) and Tessy...,

TESSY: I..., I..., finally got the Fantasia Maria, a very sweet and..., and..., warm chocolate pudding.

CARMEN: Do they have a Fantasia Barino I wonder...

TESSY: Carmen..., no joking around. But..., but..., I saw that there is..., there is..., a Fantasia Marcello on the menu, you know?

CARMEN: Must be a cool desert like Francesca's dad I think. He looks so rugged and he has a great Italian accent.

TESSY: I think he looks a bit scary.

CARMEN: Why, Tess?

TESSY: Dunno. And he always say "Ciao", for some reason.

CARMEN: Is that hello in Italian, Tessy?

TESSY: Dunno. He said..., he said..., it could mean both hi and bye.

CARMEN: But I thought "hello" is Buon giorno in Italian.

TESSY: I guess both words also..., also..., can be used.

CARMEN: We all love the dishes, which are very well presented, and the service too. So, we would surely recommend to anyone who is looking for great Italian food in Kota Kinabalu.

TESSY: Mom and dad said it was very romantic too.

CARMEN: If you go dine there, just tell Marcello that you found his restaurant through our blog. Maybe, he'll give you a complimentary Fantasia Marcello. You'll never know.
